Initiated by the State Government and antecedent by Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation Limited (MSRDC), the scheme envisions for developing the 9 major temples of religious significance around Maharashtra and Shri Dhutpapeshwar temple is one of them. Dhutpapeshwar temple is an ancient and famous temple dedicated to Lord Shiva in Rajapur taluka, located on the banks of Mrudani River and amidst tropical forest. The temple premises exhibits the exquisite interlacing of architectural style of Shilahara and Peshwa, subtly adapted in local material of the Konkan. The project offers a sensitive and comprehensive Restoration and Conservation of temple, subordinate shrines, utility structures and the ecological conservancy of the rich setting.
