The Project enunciates the importance of developing areas once under the erstwhile Travancore Kingdom to become tourist magnets and achieve a facelift to be called a World Class Heritage Location. Known for its natural and ecological beauty Kerala also is home to magnificent buildings built in and before the rule of the kings of the Travancore kingdom. The City of Trivandrum and its fringe areas & towns have great potential to be facelifted, restored and developed in order to achieve a great visitor experience on the basis of various interventions done to each individual site depending upon its use, history and location. The first of the projects identified by the team is the façade illumination of the important public buildings of the city of Thiruvananthapuram which include the gates of the fortified town, public buildings such as the public library, TRIDA etc.
